A morning walk through a forest: Antao by kaschkasch

The design duo kaschkasch has encapsulated this feeling in a new bathroom collection for Villeroy & Boch. Antao plays with the perfectly imperfect shape of a dewdrop to create a holistic collection in which shapes, colours and materials converge in perfect harmony. The perfection of imperfection 

The quest for a perfect shape, with a natural rather than perfectionist look – this was the starting point for Antao. The ultimate inspiration for the collection, the dewdrop, provides a common theme linking all elements: from ceramic to bath, furniture, mirrors and taps. Its shape is most clearly recognisable in the surface-mounted washbasins: organic with a slight asymmetry, and completely harmonious and balanced. In addition to the surface-mounted washbasins in three different sizes from 40 to 65 cm, Antao is also available as a vanity unit from 80 to 120 cm – with a softly flowing transition from shelf to basin.

What makes it so exceptional? Just like in nature, where no two dewdrops are the same, a separate shape has been developed for each washbasin size in the Antao collection. As well as giving the items a characteristic design, the organic asymmetry also has functional benefits. For example, with spacious surfaces and an inherently perfect location for the coordinating Antao taps. The taps also pick up on the dewdrop theme with soft contours and a unique shape, ideally complementing the collection with 11 different models in the finishes of Chrome, Matt Black and Brushed Nickel. 

Atmospheric colours, spherical light 

The colours are also inspired by nature. As well as classic white in a matt or glossy finish, the ceramic also comes in the on-trend matt colours of Matt Black, Almond and the new shade of Morning Green. These mellow, earthy colours convey a sense of peace and relaxation in the bathroom. The palette is complemented by natural furniture colours such as Stone Grey, Leaf Green or Midnight Blue. One particular highlight: the organically shaped Antao illuminated mirror in three different versions sets the perfect mood in the room with atmospheric background lighting – via touch-sensor or optionally with smart ZIGBEE control. 

Everything in its place 

Antao furniture coordinates perfectly with the ceramic elements in the collection while at the same time adding its own special highlights, with high-quality natural materials, textured fronts and a harmonious selection of colours. As well as high-quality painted surfaces in mellow, natural trend colours, the Antao furniture programme also includes real wood furniture in Honey Oak and Warm Walnut as well as an elegant natural stone panel in real Botticino marble.

The base and panel can be configured freely – from single-colour looks to exciting combinations such as a painted body with a wood or marble panel. The internal areas of the furniture are clearly structured and can optionally be fitted with dividing modules in oak for clear organisation. Optional LED drawer lighting provides ideal visibility even in the dark. The extensive furniture range consists of different sizes of vanity units and consoles as well as a selection of complementary furniture such as a sideboard, highboard, tall cabinet and medium cabinet. To create the perfect layout in any space. 

A relaxing bath

Another highlight of Antao: the free-standing bath. The perfect place to let time stand still and replenish your energy. The bath naturally reflects the theme of the collection: a subtle asymmetry makes the designer piece an eye-catching feature that also meets the very highest requirements in terms of ergonomics and functionality. Made from finest Quaryl® with 60% quartz content, the bath feels particularly pleasant on the skin and keeps the water hot for a very long time. The slender rims and a depth of 48 cm provide maximum space for exceptional bathing comfort.

The Antao bath is available in single-colour versions in Alpin White, Stone White, Grey and the new Morning Green. Bi-colour options are also possible with a white interior and coloured panel in a choice of 200 RAL shades. Together with the coordinating free-standing bath tap, with its flowing contours, the bath will transform any bathroom into a haven of peace and relaxation for a personal home spa experience. The SilentFlow filling system is also available as an extra comfort upgrade option: the water flows into the tub from below in the shape of a star – so there’s no annoying splashing while preparing an indulgent, relaxing bath.

A perfect blend: Sebastian Schneider and Florian Kallus both trained as carpenters as well as completing studies in product design. Their work combines sound craft skills with an innovative mindset. “kaschkasch” is a combination of the last names of the two founders and was created in 2011.
