Award winning Fontevraud L’Hotel chooses Smartfil®

The Fine Bedding Company has supplied Smartfil® Boutique Silk duvets and pillows to the award winning Fontevraud L’Hotel, France, which opened in May following its conversion from a 12th century priory into a luxury four star property complete with 54 rooms, family suites and gourmet restaurant.

The Fine Company specified Smartfil® Boutique Silk duvets and pillows throughout the property which according to Pascal Bailly, Director of hospitality at Fontevraud L’Hotel “are part of the success story of the hotel.”

“A recent survey showed that whilst in a hotel room, guests spend 80% of their time in bed. Therefore the quality of the bedding is critical and that is why we chose to partner with The Fine Bedding Company.”

Boutique Silk duvets and pillows contain Smartfil®, a unique, non-allergenic, multi layered fibre filling which is manufactured in house and available exclusively from The Fine Bedding Company. The filling contains tiny fibres which are coated with a permanent silicone glaze and blended with pure silk to create washable duvets and pillows that are silky soft to the touch and shape to the contours of the body for a great night’s sleep.

The hotel, which is located in Saint-Lazare in the Loire Valley, was recently recognised in the European Hotel Design Awards in the ‘Adaptive Re-use’ category. In its time this wonderful historic building has been a hospital, nursing home and a rest home for nuns during seven centuries of monastic life. The adjacent Abbey contains the tomb of Eleanor of Aquitaine, Queen of France who then became Queen of England. Consequently, the hotel is fast becoming a top destination for guests eager to soak up its rich heritage.

Using Smartfil® can therefore cut laundry bills and help optimise the cleaning budget per room.
