Bisley’s Revolutionary Be system
Introducing Bisley’s next generation of its revolutionary Be system, for a post-pandemic working world…
Be by Bisley was at the forefront of the agile working revolution when it first entered the market in 2012. Now, with nearly a decade’s worth of success behind it, Be has been rapidly reinvigorated for the post-Covid workspace’s demands, allowing distancing with creativity and design, while also considering safety with a heightened appreciation of wellbeing.

When it originally launched, Be challenged the perception of storage within the workplace through two key elements; the inspired use of every side of the cuboid structure, and the ground-breaking electrification of the units. Together these innovations brought storage to the heart of any interior, enabling a far broader range of uses.
Building on that innovation, Be can now also address office workers’ current Covid concerns. Its unique design can be used to create subtle space and territory division, ensuring a safe and productive space, which threads through the workspace allowing multiple activities in one core creation, while still adhering to distancing protocols. Be’s dual aspect creates a natural barrier that fits in seamlessly within your working environment, allowing natural light but separating a room without building walls, whilst also providing unique personal storage space.
Richard Costin CEO for Bisley commented,
‘The office landscape is constantly changing, and the pandemic has meant that we’ve needed to adapt our working spaces as more individuals embrace a hybrid way of working, with companies providing collaboration. We’ve listened to our clients and considered recent innovations from our design team to update and refresh Be – allowing perfect combinations for a truly connected workspace.”
Employee wellbeing has never been higher on the agenda and as we all begin to consider the return to the workplace, we know that the creative use of storage is the best way to inspire a sense of belonging in the workplace, especially when employees may have been out of the physical office environment for many months.
Be blends desirable workspace aesthetics with practical storage and stowage solutions, giving all colleagues – whether permanent, mobile or nomadic – a sense of control, peace of mind and belonging while at work.
Precision engineered and beautifully designed, Be was always created to be different; using a wide range of unique colour combinations, mixing wood and steel surfaces, with environments which cater for open and closed storage, and the power to display and perform. With both a pre-defined range and a fully bespoke option, the units are available in a range of heights, widths, colours and choices of materials and finishes. Over the years, countless workspaces have been enhanced with optional features such as glass, pin boards or light box panels, or integrated power supplies, ensuring that each area is a practical space that people love to be in.
Mark Shatford, Head of Design at Bisley commented,
‘Fresh for 2021, a number of refinements have been made to the original Be concept. The new flush front handles and concealed hinges give the design a clean, modern appeal, while a greater variety of colours and materials whether fabric, glass, wood or steel means architects and designers have greater choice when specifying for workplace interiors. The addition of USB charging points meanwhile, reflects the needs of mobile workers with multiple devices to charge at once. We’re delighted with how Be will reflect modern working practices.’
Be gives you the choice to decide how you want to work, by helping you define what fits your organisation right now and for years to come. In maximising every inch of the product through storage, security, power provision and privacy, Be encourages collaboration and effective working through spaces that bring people together in a Covid-safe way.
