British Airways i360 – West Beach Bar and Kitchen
Heralding new heights for Brighton’s coastline, the new i360 observation tower sponsored by British Airways is designed by the award-winning Marks Barfield Architects. Completed in August 2017, the tallest moving tower in the world, and taller than the London Eye, expects to attract over 700,000 visitors per year for its 360-degree views of Brighton and the South Coast.
Working with Marks Barfield Architects who also designed the iconic London Eye, Inside Out was appointed to provide a full furnishing scheme for the attraction’s dedicated food and beverage offering; The West Beach Bar & Kitchen.Taking inspiration from the vibrant culture of Brighton and Hove, the interiors by Marks Barfield Architects feature an eclectic but modern beach hut vibe, complete with local art and a varied mix of furniture styles and colours.
The Full circular booth seating has been re-upholstered Inside Out’s UK workshop and refitted with limed oak panelling which hones in on a weathered and natural look. Using traditional techniques, the made-to-measure fit of the booths is upholstered in soft blue-sage fabric adding an ocean toned colour palette. For the main dining area, Italian made Jeeves armchairs mingle with Karavan and Thea dining chairs in a combination of natural and white-washed wood stains. Accompanied by solid wood dining tables handmade in the UK, the weathered-look limed oak finish is applied to the table tops, creating a clever connection to driftwood and the prime seafront location.
From full circular banquette seating to make the most of the view, to mini stools and colourful lounges dotted around the bar, the venue plays host to a modern and yet vibrant setting, with celebrated elements of the Brighton seaside and local surroundings. For more information about Inside Out Contracts visit their website www.insideoutcontracts.com or you can view their DI Directory profile on our official product finder here.
