Celebrating the winners of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise
Today our Queen celebrates her 91st birthday and with that she proudly announces the winners of The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise. This prestigious honour is awarded to businesses for outstanding achievement, and a few BCFA members have been given the Queen’s stamp of approval this year.
ROMAN WINS QUEEN’S AWARD FOR ENTERPRISE FOR INTERNATIONAL TRADERoman have shown a substantial and sustained increase in export earnings over three consecutive 12 month periods, to a level which is outstanding. David Osborne, MD at Roman commented on their win;
“Our sustained investment, patience and belief over the last 10 years in developing our international markets has proven a great success and for this to be recognised in such a way is a very proud achievement. We have developed our unique capabilities which has in turn created so many opportunities with major International Hotel Group.”
BANCROFT SOFT FURNISHINGS WINS QUEEN’S AWARD FOR ENTERPRISE FOR INTERNATIONAL TRADEEstablished in 2008, this is a fantastic achievement in such a short space of time, and a testament to the hard work and effort of all the Bancroft Team. Working in the soft furnishing industry, Bancroft are an established and respected supplier of curtain, upholstery and lining fabrics to the hospitality, cruise, care home, education and leisure sectors, as well as domestic retail outlets and home workers. Greta Henderson, MD comments;
“Our export business has grown year on year for the last 4 years in a very difficult market. We have a tremendous team of people working at Bancroft, great customers and suppliers, and it’s these relationships that have helped Bancroft to move forward. HYPNOS WINS QUEEN’S AWARD FOR ENTERPRISE FOR INTERNATIONAL TRADE
Hypnos received the award in recognition of its substantial growth and commercial success in international business, as well as driving strong year-on-year growth in overseas sales and export activity. James Keen, Managing Director at Hypnos, comments;
“It’s a true honour to receive such an accolade and we’re incredibly proud of this achievement and all the hard-work that’s been put in over the last few years. During this time we have focussed our attention on developing a global footprint and invested time and resources in securing a strong international position. We now have over 20 manufacturing licensees around the world, enabling us to serve our global hotel customers efficiently and effectively.”
CHELSOM WINS QUEEN’S AWARD FOR ENTERPRISE FOR INTERNATIONAL TRADEChelsom has been awarded in recognition of its outstanding export achievements over the past three years and has demonstrated outstanding results, achieving 131% growth in international sales over that period. Chelsom have achieved remarkable export growth particularly in North America, the Middle East and Europe. Major investments in their international sales team, our branding and overseas exhibitions have raised our international profile and have all been critical to our success. However, Chelsom have maintained equal focus on the UK market which has also grown by almost 45% over the same period. Robert Chelsom, Chairman, commented;
“I am extremely proud that Chelsom is one of only 102 companies across all industries to be honoured with the award for International Trade this year because it acknowledges the hard work, dedication and passion that every employee has shown in helping to drive the business forward internationally. The Queen’s Award is valid for five years. Successful organisations may fly the Queen’s Award flag at their principal premises and are entitled to use the Emblem on their stationery, advertising and goods. Commemorative articles can also be given to employees.
