Contract Chair Co. – One Kensington Restaurant
Industrial Victorian feel in No. 1 High Street Kensington
Overlooking Kensington Palace Gardens, One Kensington is the latest and probably the most impressive addition to the Tamarind Collection of Restaurants. Contract Chair Co. were chosen as the furniture supplier for the project.
The restaurant is located in a Grade II listed building with the most iconic address in London (1 Kensington High Street), which housed The London & County Bank in 1885. Referring to the 1880s, the furniture has been developed and purpose-built with a feel of the Victorian industrial era.
42 of Contract Chair Co. premium quality Matador Chairs have been upholstered in ocean turquoise leather and studded with antique brass detail to turn them into a defining and integral part of the concept.
One of the key strengths in this project is the bespoke manufacture capacity of Contract Chair Co. Matching 26 barstools and 18 lounge chairs with heavy industrial metal frames, which are certainly different from what you usually see in contemporary restaurants, have been created from scratch to match the drawings of the designer. The distinguishing feature, which is the heavy metal revolving frame is finished in Gunmetal, while the seat and back are upholstered in premium leather and studded with brass detail to complete the feel of the Victorian industrial era.

Beautifully mixed design, and the way it all ties in with the age of the building and the theme of the establishment is very tastefully done. Great job there!
