Daffodil From Historic Vessel to Luxury Dining with Havwoods

Inspiring architects and interior designers for over 50 years, Havwoods is a global leader in luxury wood surface design, with its products featured in some of the world’s most refined restaurants, hotels, retail spaces, and private residences. Known for their craftsmanship, innovation, and an extensive palette of species, finishes, and colours, Havwoods’ surfaces elevate interiors across every scale and setting.

One such setting is The Daffodil, a luxurious floating restaurant reborn from the iconic MV Royal Daffodil. Originally launched as Overchurch, this storied vessel served passengers on the River Mersey for more than half a century. Now moored in Liverpool’s historic docklands, she has been meticulously transformed into an elegant dining destination, where Havwoods’ signature wood surfaces add warmth and sophistication to a truly unique culinary experience.

A Fusion of Maritime Charm and Luxury

Spanning four levels, this stunning £3.5 million refurbishment blends maritime heritage with modern sophistication. The Daffodil boasts a refined restaurant, a stylish cocktail bar, expansive sun decks, and an exclusive sub-marine event space. On the Main Deck, guests are welcomed into a space with rich teak-coloured Elegante cladding whilst the restaurant’s interior exudes deep ebony tones completing the luxurious ambiance.

Visionaries Behind the Transformation

Liverpool entrepreneurs Joshua Boyd and Philip Olivier are the creative forces behind this ambitious project, bringing new life to a piece of Merseyside’s maritime history. “We’ve poured our hearts into restoring this iconic vessel.” – Josh Boyd . “Daffodil is more than just a venue; it’s a historic landmark reimagined for today’s audience. From exquisite dining to vibrant events, we’re offering something truly unique on Liverpool’s waterfront.” – Philip Olivier

Elegante Finishing Touches

Havwoods’ premium wood products play a pivotal role in the Daffodil’s design. On the Main Deck, the luxurious Teak Ondato veneer from Havwoods’ Elegante range enhances the maritime character of the space and bar areas. Meanwhile, the restaurant’s interior features the warm, dark tones of Ebony Ondato from the Elegante collection. Both FSC-certified, these high-quality materials contribute to the vessel’s timeless beauty.
