Design Pop Up – Glasgow
A new style of exhibiting
Glasgow, 26th March: Eight companies leading the market in the design industry got together for the first time in Glasgow in a four-week Design Pop Up. Allgood, Artemide, Bute, Domus Tiles, Mapei, Milliken, Shadbolt and Steelcase showcased their most innovative products under one roof at the Italian Centre, in the heart of the City, for the entire month of March 2014, giving the chance to architects and designers to interact first hand with the newest in design in the UK.
The showroom hosting the Design Pop Up, which was born as Page\Park’s studio, has seen the eight exhibitors and suppliers present their latest trends and products to architects and designers through a series of private views, CPDs and tailor-made meetings.
From the stunning porcelain tile collections designed by Patricia Urquiola and Raw Edges for Domus Tiles, to the beautifully crafted and bespoke Shadbolt doors, the sleek and elegant Allgood’s ironmongery accessories, the Mapei’s innovative and sustainable adhesives and sealants, as well as the Milliken’s stylish and high performance carpet tiles, Steelcase’s functional, high-tech office furniture, the upholstery fabrics inspired by the landscape, colours and textures of the island of Bute, and iconic lights and state of the art architectural products by Artemide: at the Design Pop Up specifiers had the opportunity to find everything they need, and more, for their commercial and residential projects.
Double S Events, the creator and organiser of the event, registered almost 400 visitors to the exhibition, as well as more than 3 thousands hits on the event’s website, and a fantastic media coverage, both online and offline with tweets by Elle Decoration Uk, and articles by Urban Realm, media partner of #DesignPopUp.
Thanks to the numerous CPDs and private views that were organised to attract visitors, the #DesignPopUp saw the attendance of representatives from all the major Scottish practices, including architects and designers from BDP, Archial Norr, Keppie Design, Holmes Miller, 360 Architecture, Haa Design, Graven Images, Michael Lairds, Cooper Cromar, Sheppard Robson, Glasgow City Council, Contagious, and many more.
