Graduate Profile: Tim Evershed

In this series we continue to profile graduates from a wide selection of design degree courses.  

Tim Evershed graduated from Portsmouth University with a Product Design and Innovation Bsc in 2012 and is the founder of Brook Studio.  Although Tim did not graduate this year he will be joining the UK’s leading design graduates at New Designers in their highly regarded One Year On exhibition.  New Designers Part 2 runs from the 5th – 8th July 2017.

Tim told us a little more about his work:  ‘My work places emphasis on fitness for purpose, proportion, material and form – in that order. My furniture and products are handcrafted to last a lifetime and for that reason I use only natural materials – They have their own warmth and vitality, they bare the markings of age well, they look better in ten years time, not worse.’

We also asked Tim about his aspirations for the future:  ‘My plans are to continue to take on ambitious and exciting bespoke projects from my own workshop as well as collaborating with well known retailers and manufacturers.’
