Illuminating Interiors: GP & J Baker and Pooky Unveil New Lampshade Collection

GP & J Baker and Pooky are delighted to announce the launch of a capsule collection of lampshades that fuse Pooky’s creative genius and affordability with GP & J Baker’s authentic, archival fabric designs. The collection of four designs is available in a range of curated colourways with inspiration taken from hand painted documents discovered in GP & J Baker’s world renowned archive which includes artworks and prints dating back to the seventeenth century.

Baker’s enduring designs have been carefully re-coloured and rescaled and include iconic ‘Ferns’ and ‘Magnolia’ originally painted by textile designer William Turner in the early 19th century as well as ‘Small Ikat Spot’ a design based on the much loved ‘Ikat Bokhara’ fabric and ‘Polka Dot’ an enchanting two colour design inspired by a mid-century archive document. ‘Ferns’, ‘Magnolia’ and ‘Small Ikat Spot’ have been beautifully reimagined to a smaller scale and printed onto a linen ground. These pleated shades are trimmed with a bold contrasting edge to create a timeless, statement empire shade perfect for adding punch to any room.

‘Polka Dot’ a co-ordinating, contemporary spot design has been printed onto paper and also features a bold, statement trim. Shades are available in two different shapes, ‘Empire’ including 16, 18, 20, 25 and 30cm sizes, and ‘Straight Empire’ in larger 35, 40, 45 and 50cm diameters. The colour palette for the collection ranges from rich teals, bright blues and jewel-like emerald to sophisticated blush tones and understated earthy neutrals, perfect for fresh and relevant contemporary interiors.
