Introducing the UK’s first design-led collection of Bfl-s1 rated engineered wood flooring by Havwoods.

Havwoods’ FlameLESS engineered wood flooring solution combines the stunning beauty of natural timber with advanced fire safety performance.

Developed in response to growing demand from architects, designers, and specifiers, FlameLESS bridges the gap between aesthetic appeal and regulatory compliance. It’s designed for projects where fire performance cannot be compromised, including commercial, hospitality, and multi-residential environments.  This flooring is treated with specially formulated fire-retardant processes that enhance the flame resistance without compromising the wood’s natural character.

Independently tested and certified to meet EN 13501-1 Bfl-s1 classification, this flooring delivers:

  • Low flame spread (Bfl): Significantly reducing the risk of fire propagation across the floor surface.
  • Minimal smoke production (s1): Ensuring optimal air quality and visibility in the event of a fire – critical for safe evacuation and reduced toxicity.

The fire-retardant elements create a protective barrier against ignition sources, whilst the engineered construction maintains exceptional stability.

Ideal for commercial and high-traffic residential environments requiring stringent fire safety compliance – such as hospitality, retail, and public buildings – this solution delivers both design excellence and peace of mind.

As Anthony Scott, Havwoods Global Product and Innovation Director says:

“We’ve launched Flameless to meet the demands of the market, and introduce a design-led wood flooring that is fire rated to a BFL certification under the EN13501-1 standard. Most flooring products or wood flooring products are D class or C class rated at best, but we’ve gone one step further and created a B classification product. This product launch is exciting because it introduces our six Hero colours: Cedro, Fendi, Amazon, Blanco, Quadro and Arena in fire-rated certification. Architects and designers can specify the colours that they love, but in a fully safety compliant product.”
