Chelsom is a third-generation family business which designs and manufactures high quality decorative lighting for the international hotel and marine industries. Chelsom works with the very best interior designers in the world supplying both standard and custom lighting to the most luxurious hospitality and marine brands, completing prestigious projects in more than 70 countries around the world. Key clients include major hotel operators such as Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Starwood, Hilton, Accor, Marriott and on the marine side Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Crystal Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line and Norwegian Cruise Lines with exports now accounting for around 40% of all sales.
Chelsom has been awarded the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade for the second time in 3 years in recognition of its outstanding export achievements over recent years. As Britain’s most coveted commercial prize, the awards celebrate and encourage business excellence in the UK. Chelsom has demonstrated outstanding results, achieving 131% growth in international sales over that period.
Chelsom’s headquarters and factory are based in the UK with additional production facilities based in the Far East. The UK facility in Blackpool has 375sq meters area devoted to production and 500sq meters storage area with 70 full time members of staff. The Far Eastern factory has 1500 employees and six assembly lines. The factory is one of the largest manufacturers of lighting in the Far East and has a capacity of $100 million. The extensive in-house facilities include toolmaking, pressing, punching, CNC cutting, stamping, spinning, painting, lacquering, finishing, assembling, and testing.
