Miro’s First Berlin Office: A Dynamic Hub for Collaboration & Community by M Moser
AI-powered collaboration platform Miro has unveiled its first dedicated office space in Berlin, designed by M Moser. The 27,000 sq ft community hub embodies the company’s ethos of teamwork and play while thoughtfully integrating the city’s identity.
Designed by M Moser to foster collaboration and community – setting users up for success
Strengthening connections
The office relocation presented an opportunity to enhance company pride and strengthen team cohesion. Inspired by Berlin’s nonconformist spirit, the design blends the building’s industrial character with Miro’s vibrant and energetic brand, creating a space that fosters a sense of belonging among employees.
Flexible design solutions
The design approach was informed by an in-depth understanding of Miro’s evolving needs, leveraging insights gained from the company’s Amsterdam office project. Midway through the process, a company-wide rebrand introduced an unexpected challenge, yet the design’s deep alignment with Miro’s identity allowed it to evolve effortlessly.
Thoughtful space planning
Designed to accommodate up to 120 employees, the layout transitions seamlessly from lively public areas to quiet, focus-driven zones. Visitors are welcomed into an energetic event space, while dedicated focus areas, co-working zones, and collaboration spaces support diverse work styles. To promote well-being, two outdoor terraces and a greenery-filled library provide peaceful retreats.
Miro places a strong emphasis on engaging and connecting with its ‘Mironeers’ when designing spaces worldwide. The primary goal of its office approach is to create an environment where employees feel set up for success and are motivated to be together.
Just a few months after opening, the Berlin office has seen a substantial increase in attendance, with the average number of days per Mironeer rising. A post-occupancy survey reports a 63% increase in office attendance.
A reflection of identity
The office design in Berlin creates an engaging environment that feels like Miro through distinctive colours and bold, playful details – striking a balance between creativity and practicality.
M Moser brought in local artist Vidam to create a 14-metre mural for the multi-purpose event space. The artwork reflects the essence of Berlin while seamlessly integrating with Miro’s branding.
Wilco Poppelier, Global Lead – Workplace Strategy and Projects at Miro said:
“Our new Berlin office is a testament to the power of local ownership and community. By guiding our Mironeers through the journey and truly listening to their needs, we’ve created a space that reflects the local team’s unique vibe while driving success.
Every space we design supports both our individuals and teams to “create the next best thing”.
Since relocating, our post-occupancy survey shows a 13% improvement in the workplace experience (from 3.8 to 4.3 stars), along with a 63% increase in office attendance—clear signs that our approach is making an impact. Our people feel more connected and empowered than ever, and this is just the beginning of our exciting journey in the new Berlin office.”
