Newhey’s Strand Palace Hotel Unveiling

The iconic Strand Palace Hotel London has unveiled the first of its newly refurbished Superior and Deluxe guestrooms after many months of planning, with more rooms set to be re-opened in the coming months. BCFA member Newhey Carpets worked in partnership with Hertfordshire based international interior design company Trevillion Interiors, to create the perfect carpet design for this iconic hotel.

This multi-million pound investment sees the new Superior and Deluxe guestrooms decorated in a calming, neutral palette.

The initial release in early March covers all rooms and corridors on the hotel’s ninth floor, with the eighth floor released in early June and seventh in September with further floors following suit.  The hotels ground floor will undergo renovations with the full refurbishment set to be complete by April 2020.

This ongoing project has seen Newhey manufacture over 3,000 square metres of carpet at 4 metres wide with a further 5,000+ square metres currently in production to be supplied throughout 2018. The Strand Palace opened it’s doors in 1909 but in the 1930’s had brand new art deco features – including a foyer so iconic it is now owned by the V&A museum.   

Newhey abides by a strict environmental policy, backed up by a seamless supply chain to ensure the highest degree of sustainability.  All products are supplied with ‘evobac’ a unique backing system made using post-consumer recycled PET applied using a revolutionary solvent free hot-melt application process.  Every square mere of carpet produced by Newhey contains 8 plastic bottles which have been recycled in order to produce ‘evobac’ which is then applied to the carpet though their own backing line at their factory on the outskirts of Manchester.
