OW Hospitality Collaborate with HBA London
The UK based Axminster design team OW Hospitality recently collaborated with HBA London, to create Guest Room Corridor carpets and Guest Room Area Rugs, as part of a first phase refurbishment of the Camellia Hotel, located in the elegant coastal resort of Opatija, situated on the dramatic Adriatic coastline.
Named for the abundance of Camellia plants which thrive in the surrounding town, the hotel evokes the traditions of a rich 19th century heritage, where ship building and elegant tourism were common place.
“A simplified, contemporary and personal design aesthetic was carefully interpreted by our UK design team. Our global team of “Axperts” bring significant years of Axminster “craft” to the conversation, especially necessary on a project like this, when listening to the subtle design intent and knowing how to execute it, is crucial to the success of the finished carpet aesthetic.” – Gavin McDowell, Global Design Director, for the hospitality division of the Oriental Weavers Group.
Inspired by natural colour tones of the local light stone, in contrast to the rich terracotta hues of the roof architecture and the tactile quality of textures from a ship building era, the final carpets manufactured by Oriental Weavers Hospitality, help to quietly and respectfully reinforce a place and time, set aside for elegant relaxation and the appreciation of a gorgeous natural environment.
