Rina Keane Joins Lumsden Board: Championing Representation and a More Inclusive Future
Lumsden, the award-winning retail and hospitality designers for the cultural, brand and visitor attractions sector, is proud to announce the promotion and appointment of Rina Keane to its board.
Rina is currently Design Director having played a key role in shaping cultural and visitor attraction spaces with Lumsden, leading projects such as the Portico Shop at the National Gallery, and the refurbishment of Platform 9 and ¾ shop at King’s Cross Station.
With over 10 years’ experience in previous roles working across a variety of brands from Starbucks Reserve to EE, Rina brings a distinct, strategic perspective to Lumsden’s team. Keane says:
“Our goal is to create spaces that are not only visually striking but also accessible and welcoming to all audiences.”
Announced to coincide with International Women’s Day 2025, Keane’s appointment highlights the importance of representation in leadership. Keane adds:
“Throughout my career, I’ve seen first-hand how the industry thrives when different voices are heard,” she says. “True representation isn’t just about visibility—it’s about opening doors for others. At Lumsden, diversity is key to driving our team’s success.”
Lumsden is a majority-female and international team, which has seen several female designers stepping into senior roles this year, reinforcing its commitment to career progression.
“Encouragingly, we’re now collaborating with several world-renowned brands led by women in senior roles.” Lumsden is working with a number of international, currently confidential, projects in the U.S, Japan and the Middle East, “it’s an inspiring shift toward a more balanced industry,” Keane observes.
