Roca London Gallery by Zaha Hadid Architects
Following the tragic news of the passing of Dame Zaha Hadid, we show our appreciation to the iconic Architect by remembering her collaboration with BCFA member, Roca.
The Zaha Hadid Architects designed Roca showroom in London which opened its doors in October 2011. The showroom incorporates space for the Roca London Gallery, which offers a changing programme of exhibitions, presentations and events with a particular focus on architecture, design, innovation, sustainability and wellbeing. The exhibitions programme reflects Roca’s mission to maintain an open dialogue with the public and professionals on designing for the future. Independent curators are regularly invited to share their thinking through installations.
Recent shows have included ‘Urban Plunge: new designs for swimming in our cities’; ‘Urbanistas: Women Innovators in Architecture, Urban and Landscape Design’; and ‘Childhood Recollections: Memory in Design’, all of which referenced international and national projects to illustrate the respective ideas. Events at the gallery this year will include an exhibition on the evolution of the bathhouse and contemporary ideas around communal bathing.
