Roca Presents the New Meridian Collection: Timeless Design Meets Sustainable Functionality

The centrepiece of Roca’s bathroom collections: Few series from the bathroom system supplier embody the spirit and DNA of the company better than ‘Meridian’. Roca draws its design inspiration from the Mediterranean way of life and explicitly also from the design language, light and architecture of the Spanish design metropolis of Barcelona.

The design collective Altherr Désile Park (ADP) with Jeanette Altherr has now taken on the revision of the classic. The Barcelona-based studio was inspired by the modernist minimalism of the German-born designer. A mindset that offers good conditions for a fundamental design relaunch that will extend the market position of the long seller into the next decade.

In the beginning, there was the idea of balance: the Meridian collection is inspired by Mediterranean architecture and combines traditional elements with contemporary style. Each piece in the collection is characterised by fine materials and soft geometries that bring calm and harmony to the room. The designs are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also functional.

Characteristic features are the construction of the washbasins and a special colour scheme: a steel frame supports the ceramic and encloses the bathroom furniture to form a single unit – these units are available in both floor-standing and wall-hung versions. In addition, there are elegant metal boxes and drawers that can be placed on open shelves to hold all kinds of bathroom accessories. The defining colour, in addition to white and black as accents, is a natural, beige wood tone.

Sustainability in focus

Another central aspect of the Meridian collection is the influence of Roca’s commitment to the environment. The company uses innovative flushing technologies such as the Rimless Vortex System in the toilet ceramics, which not only improves hygiene but also optimises water consumption. The toilet range is complete: Meridian toilets are available in floor-standing, wall-hung and ceramic exposed cistern versions. The vanity units are made from FSC-certified wood, further reduces the collection’s environmental footprint.

Versatile and adaptable — for 170 global markets

The Meridian collection offers a variety of configurations and finishes that allow users to customise their bathrooms. From compact wall-hung WCs to generous washbasins in a range of sizes, the collection adapts to different needs and room layouts. The neutral colours and soft shapes promote a relaxed lifestyle and make Meridian the ideal choice for any home in the 170 countries where Roca is present.
