Secret Ceramics at SoShiro: Cultural Icons Zandra Rhodes, Kit Kemp, and Nina Campbell Join Celebrated Artists for London Craft Week’s 10th Anniversary
The gallery and adaptable home for the arts, design and culture plays host to Secret Ceramics presented by London Craft Week, featuring work available to purchase from the UK’s most established artists for just £300.
The art, craft and design gallery SoShiro has a rich history in London as an alternative events space to the mainstream. Encompassing five floors of a beautiful Georgian townhouse in Marylebone, the gallery has been chosen by London Craft Week to host Secret Ceramics. This is one of many LCW owned special events to mark the occasion of its 10th Anniversary this May.
This charitable initiative, presented at SoShiro Gallery, showcases more than 100 single-stem vessels created by leading artists, influencers and graduate talents – but as the name suggests, contributors to this exhibition will remain anonymous until after a piece is sold. All works will be sold at a fixed price of £300 with buyers encouraged to make an additional voluntary donation.
Collectors can look to identify works by established artists such as Kate Malone, Hitomi Hisono, Aneta Regel, Frances Priest, Lucille Lewin and Luke Fuller through their signature styles, but also acquire work by talented new-comers, whose work demands our attention through its beauty alone. Cultural influencers such as Zandra Rhodes, Kit Kemp and Nina Campbell are also making new works for the sale.

The project will support the opening of a new FiredUp4 ceramic studio in White City, enabling young people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to experience the power of working with clay.

Based in Marylebone, SoShiro is a 360-degree cultural hub that not only produces, curates and showcases collections inspired by global cultures but also acts as a creative incubator and events space.
Shiro Muchiri, Creative Director at SoShiro
The gallery is the brainchild of Shiro Muchiri; a Kenyan-born, Italian-trained interior architect, designer, curator and tastemaker. As well as pieces designed by Muchiri herself, SoShiro presents unique collaborations between artists and craftsmen sourced globally, collaborating with specialist artisans and makers. Main exhibits are launched biannually, with additional smaller collections displayed throughout the different gallery spaces.
On the top floor of the gallery, Shiro has transformed this space into an events area offering guests and collectors a different point of view of her vision and inspirations. Hosting regular events (these have included wine and Sake evenings with sommelier Shane Jones), these engaging experiences add an intriguing layer to the design work, and add so much to London’s creative map for London Craft Week and beyond.
