Studio Moren’s Architectural Vision for TRIBE Hotels UK at Manchester Airport

Hospitality design specialist Studio Moren is delighted to celebrate the successful opening of TRIBE Manchester Airport Hotel, an exciting new addition to the Airport City Manchester development. As part of Accor’s TRIBE brand, this 412-key lifestyle hotel brings a fresh, contemporary presence to the area, located just 400 metres from Terminal 2.

Studio Moren’s architectural vision comes to life, expanding TRIBE hotels UK offering with new hotel at Manchester Airport

Studio Moren designed and delivered the architectural vision for the nine-storey hotel, which stands as the first completed building in a new development block. Positioned within a rapidly expanding part of the airport, the hotel introduces much needed accommodation capacity in response to the ever-increasing demand from both visitors to and residents of the Greater Manchester area.

Studio Moren’s approach to the project focused on creating a functional, visually impactful building, perfectly suited for the dynamic environment of an international airport. The hotel’s façade sets it apart with its dark-grey metal-clad woven design, breaking from traditional grid patterns, while its vibrant window frames in graduated orange tones add a distinctive and colourful touch.

Jonathan Comfort, Associate at Studio Moren said:

“TRIBE Manchester Airport Hotel stands out as a vibrant new destination for travellers, bringing a modern, eye-catching presence to the area. We designed the hotel with bright colours and an open layout to create an inviting atmosphere that redefines the traditional airport hotel experience.”

The property features a large, open-plan ground floor, designed to seamlessly integrate key public areas including an all-day dining restaurant, a grab-and-go station, meeting facilities, and a fitness centre. In addition, a crew lounge dedicated to airport staff further enhances the hotel’s functional offerings, ensuring it caters to both guests and airport personnel.

Eoin Carroll, Associate at Studio Moren added:

“Architecturally, this project has been an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of the Airport City Manchester development. It’s not just about creating a building, but helping shape an evolving district. We’re proud to deliver a design that balances visual impact with the operational needs of such a dynamic environment.”

TRIBE Manchester Airport Hotel is part of the Airport City Manchester development, a major expansion initiative aimed at transforming the area into a thriving hub of hospitality, retail, and business. As one of the first new-build hotels in this evolving district, the hotel sets a high standard for future developments and plays a key role in reshaping the airport’s hospitality landscape.

With over 32 years at the forefront of hospitality design, Studio Moren’s architectural expertise shines through in the hotel’s thoughtful design, which balances aesthetic impact with operational efficiency to meet the needs of a busy airport environment. The building’s welcoming exterior is complemented by carefully considered spatial planning, ensuring a seamless flow between guest areas.
