The award-winning Outhouse features Laufen’s Pro S Range
Laufen are delighted that Outhouse was shortlisted in the RIBA Stirling awards and awarded the accolade of People’s Choice by BBC.
A low-lying, modernist house in the Forest of Dean, designed by architects Loyn & Co, was one of six projects shortlisted for this year’s most prestigious architecture award, the RIBA Stirling Prize.
The concrete building cuts into the side of the hill and merges with the beautiful landscape thanks to the meadow roof and underground living space. Sustainable and energy efficient, the interior features the streamlined Laufen Pro S range, including the new Pro S WC with its innovative flushing system which uses a minimal amount of water to effectively flush.
Over 36,000 votes were received by the BBC to establish this year’s favourite new British building, and Outhouse, the only private house on the shortlist, was the clear winner.
