It seems that William Morris designs are very much part of the ‘Zeitgeist’ and that his timeless classics are more popular than ever. Deep routed in our national design psyche, his patterns resonate with us all at some level.

As the most influential designer of the Arts & Crafts period, the obvious association is to think of period properties and Arts & Crafts houses for which his fabrics and wallpapers are perfectly suited.

A stunning example of such a refurb. can be seen here in Ardna Sidhe. Country House Hotel, Kerry

His love of English Nature, mean that his fabrics and wallcoverings work beautifully in Country House Hotels.  He could have been a forerunner of the contemporary trend of bringing the outside in!

More recent developments by Morris & Co of digitally printed large scale designs such as ‘Forest’ , can bring character to the most contemporary boutique hotel. Be it as an accent piece of furniture  or hung as  a piece of art on the wall.

Why not introduce a little bit of William Morris by offering guests toiletries in Strawberry Thief, what better quintessentially English treat. Or for a statement piece choose a Morris & Co rug.
