The Vision Behind Kendal Street Kitchen
The brief for Kendal Street Kitchen was to create a cosy, residential-like retreat that embodies the calm elegance of Connaught Village. Design Command embraced this challenge, transforming a bustling urban location into a tranquil dining haven that fosters a sense of community and relaxation.
Approaching the project as a personalized residential space, Design Command aimed to evoke feelings of comfort and well-being. The design features natural materials, a restrained colour palette, and cosy textures, creating an inviting atmosphere that complements the Mediterranean menu.
Upon entering, guests are transported from the chaos of Oxford Street to a serene environment where they can unwind and enjoy a unique dining experience.
Thoughtful Material and Colour Choices
Design Command selected a subtle palette of shaded whites, greens, and natural timbers to create a harmonious space. Natural herringbone flooring and terrazzo tiling add a touch of luxury while maintaining simplicity, seamlessly blending with the restaurant’s tranquil surroundings.
Kendal Street Kitchen is a thoughtfully designed ‘home’ that offers a perfect balance between commercial functionality and residential comfort.
Its blend of natural materials, restrained colours, and cosy textures makes it a must-visit destination for a peaceful retreat in the heart of London.
