WOD in India – Boosting Mental Resilience
Women in Office Design (WOD) – the BCFA’s partners in the forthcoming Clerkenwell Open event – hosted a seminar last week to support its members in India. Sophie Higgins and John Walters from Questae Collective – a UK based company offering corporate wellness consultancy – reached out a hand of friendship through the seminar, ‘Tips on how to boost mental resilience’.
India has suffered, perhaps more than most, the devastating effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. A member of the audience at the seminar summarised the mental, as well as physical, impact – “The seriousness of the pandemic makes it so hard to concentrate on work.”
Sophie and John provided a concise yet highly informative overview of the importance of being kind to ourselves. We need to understand the effects of our ‘happy hormones’ and how to stimulate production, manage our stress levels and look after our mind and body.
The ‘chat box’ was busy during the session with many people admitting that they often forget some of the basics. The Questae team offered advice and guidance about techniques to help improve our lifestyle and personal wellbeing.
Women in Office Design (WOD) in India was launched at the end of 2020 and goes from strength to strength. A recording of the latest WOD in India seminar can be viewed on the website.
Women in Office Design was founded in May 2018 by Harsha Kotak, an interior designer with a vision to inspire and empower women working in all areas of the office design industry. WOD is a growing network of 2000 plus global members with chapters in London, Birmingham, Spain and now India. There are plans to expand to other major cities nationally and internationally.
Launched this year, the new WOD-Digital app provides a platform for collaboration, learning and networking with the rapidly expanding community women across the globe.
